Exploring the Global Entrepreneurship Congress: The Role and Impact of Grand Scale CFO
In 2024, on the 13th and 14th of March, Grand Scale CFO attended the GEC+Africa which is a regional extension of the Global Entrepreneurship Congress, a gathering of founders and leaders from more than 43 African countries committed to advancing entrepreneurial activity throughout their own countries. It included thought leaders and practitioners who are part of the global movement to make it easier for anyone, anywhere to start and scale a business.
Grand Scale CFO had four participants who registered for the GEC+Africa conference which took place in Cape Town. We took time to network, attend plenary sessions and expand our knowledge of what is missing in the entrepreneurial field.
Major highlights included the numerous businesses that were exhibiting their products under different incubator and accelerator programmes. It showed the level of innovation and creativity in the African entrepreneurs. The main plenary sessions were also inspiring, especially seeing how government, civil society and the private sector were collaborating to promote entrepreneurial activity in the African region. Lastly, the networking sessions that took place after the formal sessions were a great networking ground that promoted fellowship among entrepreneurs.
