This year, Grand Scale CFO was fortunate enough to be accepted in the Entrepreneur Organisation Accelerator Programme (EOA) in Cape Town. The aim of the programme is to empower entrepreneurs with the tools, accountability and community to aggressively grow and master their business. 

This programme is run by the Entrepreneur Organisation which is a global, peer-to-peer network of more than 18,000+ influential business owners with 220 chapters in 75+ countries. Founded in 1987, Entrepreneur Organisation is the catalyst that enables leading entrepreneurs to learn and grow, leading to greater success in business and beyond.

As GSCFO, we joined the Accelerator programme in January 2024. Both our CEO Unotida Nyoni and the CFO Gugu Moyo have been a part of this learning process. Over the past 5 months, they have attended two Learning Days which focused on People and Execution, five Accountability Group sessions each, and a number of masterclasses. This has seen the business implementing the Scaling Up methodology in scaling the business. This is an ongoing program, held in Cape Town.

As the Second In Charge (2iC) at Grand Scale CFO, Gugulethu Moyo had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Accelerator Program. This program has been a transformative experience, providing invaluable insights and support as Grand Scale CFO navigates the complexities of business growth. 

Embracing the Accelerator Program 

Grand Scale CFO joined the EO Accelerator Program to leverage its structured support and learning environment. The program is designed to help businesses scale by focusing on key areas such as strategy, execution, cash flow, and leadership. As the 2iC, Gugulethu Moyo’s role involves implementing these strategic insights into our daily operations, ensuring that GSCFO not only keep pace with its growth but also to enhance GSCFO’s capabilities in client management, systems, and people management. 

Monthly Accountability Groups 

One of the standout features of the EO Accelerator Program is the Monthly Accountability Groups. These groups bring together 2iCs from various businesses, creating a collaborative space where they can share experiences, challenges, and solutions. This peer-driven approach has been instrumental in Gugulethu Moyo’s journey, providing a platform to learn from the successes and setbacks of others in similar roles. 

The diversity of perspectives in these groups has been particularly enriching. Each meeting offers a wealth of experience shares, ranging from innovative client management techniques to effective systems implementation and strategies for tackling people management issues. These insights have been crucial in helping her introduce and refine best practices within the team at Grand Scale CFO. 

Bringing Value to Grand Scale CFO 

The knowledge and strategies gained from the EO Accelerator Program have had a direct impact on our operations at Grand Scale CFO. By integrating the experience shares and lessons from the Accountability Groups, Moyo has been able to:

• Improve Systems and Processes: Implement more efficient systems that streamline our workflows, boosting productivity and accuracy in our financial management services.

A Pathway to Growth 

Participating in the EO Accelerator Program has not only enriched my professional development but also contributed significantly to the growth and success of Grand Scale CFO. The structured support, combined with the collaborative spirit of the Accountability Groups, has equipped me with the tools and knowledge to drive our business forward.
